About Us

See who is online right now.

Our guild is a group of friends, some random and some well-met but welcomed all the same, who have decided to join in a common aim: Live a life of fun and enjoy the chaos that existence brings. Sometimes we work together, sometimes we go off on our seperate adventures. Some never do say! We still remain fond of our elaborate and grandiose titles, as a testament to the true Discordian Way.

I started The League of Dynamic Discord in May 2004 and it has been going strong ever since, though it has not been without its ups and downs. Initially the cabal was very small, its ranks filled only with those close to me who I knew in real life and who I had befriended in Rookgard and on the mainland.

The guild and I was not without admirers though, being new to Harmonia, and I also let them join in the hopes that we would grow strong and be built on a solid foundation. I was in two minds back then as to what sort of person I would accept into the guild and what sort of stance I would take on the more unforavorable activities one could get up to and subsequently; how I would structure the flow of power within the ranks. On one hand I invited unique individuals who were usually not the friendliest or "socially acceptable" amongst others but introduced a certain level of chaos and discord into the guild. On the other hand I invited the more gregarious types who worked well with others and supported one another in times of need. I have never been fond of heirachy or too much order and found it difficult to keep the guild from going under when discord erupted.

Despite my love for chaos and the un-predictable, I found that by inviting chaotic sorts who were not all that reliable and sometimes came under question when it came to matters of theft and their treatment of others (luring and pk-blocking, in particular), that the other members of the guild began to distrust these radical elements which in turn caused a certain amount of strife within the cabal. The Guild House that we rented for some time (Moonkeep in Carlin) was deemed to be a waste of time and effort because of the huge amount of trust that the people inhabiting it (largely strangers) would have to place in each other - a trust that was broken more than once. We had a huge party to both celebrate our time there and to commiserate our loss; easily one of the best Tibian parties I've ever been to.

Strife is not an altogether bad thing, however I found that the more I played Tibia, the more personally attached I became to these people whom I cared for and also to the money and items I had gained while playing. Despite my love for a balance between chaos and order, eventually I adopted a more "honorable" and ordered approach towards the guild, the game and my treatment of the players in it, as I in turn would have liked to be treated. (Discordia on Harmonia? Sounds like a contradiction but is really just a bit of fun.)

Thus we became more involved with the Harmonia Blacklist on www.catsgopurr.com (which isn't operating anymore) and also attracted people of a certain calibre towards the guild. Nowadays we have a unique collection of wonderful people who (usually) enjoy each others company and share many a laugh.

We are the third oldest guild in all Harmonia (after Tapherial and Heroic Harmonians, who we were once aligned with back in the "good ol' days" - their current members would scarcely remember such days) and that's quite an achievement, considering the leadership has changed hands 3 times within its lifetime (Myself to Sehanine Moonbow to Hermes Trimegisto, to Zinina, and back to myself after being handed, again, to Hermes Trimegisto. They have all done and still do a brilliant job of keeping things together, as well as gaining and losing many members along the way (some of whom still linger in Myth status). The core itself has remained relatively the same though and I am deeply honored to know these people. Indeed, I believe we are still perhaps one of the closest group of friends ever to grace Harmonia.

It is my hope that we continue to attract noble adventurers and humorous folk who will keep breathing life into this guild, so that we may prosper for many moons to come.

If you're still reading this, then you must be crazy to listen to my long-winded ranting. Now get going you fool!:P
